Portret16

Portret16a Tom

When gout was diagnosed Tom rigorously threw the helm over and put himself on a very strict diet (25 kg of weight loss in just a few months). Part of the regime is of course movement. So together we walk and alone he bikes.

Portret15

Portret15a Tom

My greatest darling. Thinker, consultant (although he regards it an awful word), writer, spoiler, discussion partner. Father of Klaas. Tom always lets me think about stuff and he can still surprise me, even after 37 years. :-)

Portret14

Portret14a Begga

Acupuncture needles obviously belong most to an acupuncturist. But also in other respects I think this is a good choice because Begga – in the best sense of the word – is sharp (sharp observations, pointed remarks).

Portret13

Portret13a Begga

Best friend of Klaartje. Until last summer I only knew her through email and stories. And in reality meeting was great.

Portret12

Portret12a May

A ceramic pot that May has made and that got its beautiful skin and color in the pit fire.

Portret11

Portret11a May

Almost 25 years of friendship, almost neighbors even. With – how could it be otherwise – shared interests in art, books and movies.

Portret10

Portret10a Els

A diary with lots of appointments, deletions and changes is so like Els. She is one of the few I know with a paper calendar, as I am one of the few people she knows with a digital diary!

Portret09a Els

Do women have more girlfriends than boyfriends? Well, I do, and Els is one of them. Don’t you think turquoise looks beautiful on her?

Portret08

Portret08a My mother

I admire the resilience of my mother immensily. She says she can’t go anywhere without her walker which gives her the little freedom she’s got left.

Portret07

Portret07a My mother

Six years ago my mother broke her first hip. Then a small stroke. Now also her other hip has been broken and she has been diagnosed with vascular dementia. And yet every time she gets up on her feet again!
